Obituary

We regret to announce the passing of Tyler Joseph Judkins, known affectionately as "Ty Ty" by his close friends and family, on October 15, 2023. Born in Denver, Colorado, on January 14, 1991, Tyler had a knack for making people laugh, painting the world in vibrant colors, and sporting a funky afro that would make even the most stoic person crack a smile. If there was a party, you could bet your bottom dollar Tyler was not only there, but he was also the life of it.

Tyler was a loyal fan of the Wu-Tang Clan and the Denver Nuggets, arguably their number one fan. His creative and talented nature led him to be recognized and accepted into the Denver School of the Arts. Later, he broadened his horizons at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. His thoughtful and expressive art filled many canvases with movement, landscapes, and imagination. A highlight of his artistic career was his exhibition at the Atlas Theater in April 2015, where he enthralled audiences with his unique style and vision. He added colors and shapes to life in much the same way he did to his art - with gusto, talent, and a sprinkle of humor. As Picasso aptly put it, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." Tyler lived this quote to the fullest.

Tyler, a lover of plants, sculpting, and camping, was a true nature enthusiast. He lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with joy and positivity. He was a lover of life, music, and, most importantly, his beloved cat Daphne. Tyler was a true gem in this world, shining brightly and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." Tyler took this to heart, living life on his terms and spreading joy wherever he went.

Tyler is survived by his mother, Jeri Judkins; his brothers, Brandon and Jonathan Judkins; his niece, Jamie Judkins; his step-sister, Jimaya Mason; his step-father, Sean Mason; his grandmother, Evelma Judkins; his uncle, Stanley Judkins; his aunt, Alicia McKinney; his cousins, Fleniecia Caldwell, Dijon Judkins, Jailen McKinney, and Jayden McKinney; his grandmother, Bessie Smith; his uncles, Maurice and Darius Smith; his aunts, Betina El-senussi-Smith and Christina Carroll. Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Boris Judkins; his brother, Cameron Judkins; his grandfather, Ervin Judkins; his grandfather, Jerry Smith; and his aunt, Stephanie Smith.
