Obituary

Stephen Gale Johnson, born September 17, 1963 in Medina, Ohio, was called to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 13, 2024. He resided in Denver, Colorado for the past four years, and was known by everyone he encountered as a funny, resilient, charismatic, and spirited individual.

Stephen grew up in Medina, Ohio with his family, where he cultivated a strong relationship with God, and carried his devotion into adulthood. Never employed, Stephen's life was rich in other ways; he found joy in the simple pleasure of strolling with his beloved dog Angel, exploring new cuisines, and forming connections with people from all walks of life. His infectious laughter and ability to uplift those around him was a testament to his charisma and spirit. Stephen was a man of faith, attending church every Sunday and often worshiping the Lord's scripture in his own home as well. As a firm believer in Jesus Christ, his favorite verse that guided him through life was Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

What mattered most to Stephen were his children, his loved ones, and his relationship with God. His commitment to making others happy shone through in his everyday life, and he was always eager to bring a smile to anyone's face. He is survived by his children Isabelle, Vincent, and Cecilia Johnson; his brothers Mark, Mike, and Jeff Johnson; and his sister Connie Eggleston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Hanshew Johnson and John Johnson.

Stephen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His resilience was an inspiration, his love for God was unyielding, and his love for his children was unwavering. In these moments of sorrow, we remember Stephen for the joy he brought into our lives, and the light he shone in our hearts.

We encourage all who knew and loved Stephen to visit his memorial page, where you may share your cherished memories and upload photos as a tribute to his beautiful life. His story is not just one of loss, but also one of love, faith, and resilience. In the words of Corinthians 4:16-18, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." Let us remember Stephen's life in this light and celebrate the love and joy that he shared with us.
