Obituary

Shira Laverne Brown, also affectionately known as "Shebby" to those who knew and loved her, was born on March 4, 1958, in Mart, Texas, however, she spent the majority of her life in Denver Colorado. Her radiant smile, contagious laughter, and courageous spirit brought joy to many. On November 18, 2023, Shira took her rest, leaving behind numerous cherished memories and a legacy of love and resilience.

Growing up in a large family, Shira was the mischievous and funny middle child. She was fun-loving and always the life of the party. In school, she was a popular cheerleader and standout athlete in volleyball and track.

Shira was a beacon of light, embodying the spirit of generosity in every aspect of her life. In her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Shira spent countless hours providing tender care to those who needed it most, often going above and beyond to make her patients feel comfortable and loved.

Shira left Colorado for a while to live in Seattle, WA. She loved the beauty of Washington State, but Colorado was "home" and her heart was always with her family. When it came to family and friends, Shira was the "protector" of all she loved. Shira loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved the outdoors and in her free time, she loved to visit the mountains, just to experience the beauty there.

As the Bible says, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). Shira lived this verse in her everyday life, always putting family first. She was funny and resilient, never failing to bring a touch of humor to even the most challenging situations. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit indomitable.

Shira is survived by her loving mother, Verdie Giles- FL, her children, Cory Brown - CO, Ebony Brown -TX, her grandchildren, Mikya Brown, Chikira Ray, and Carvon Brown, her siblings, Shirley Brown- CO, Lorraine White (Titus)- TX, Faye Brown-Meagher (Michael)- CO, Danny Brown (Hilda) - CO, Charlotte Blanchard - FL, and Lawrence Gerald Giles (Tanya) -FL, her Aunts, Louise Howard, Lenora Horton, and Linda Jo Brown; all of TX, along with her loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

Shira was preceded in death by her maternal Grandparents, William and Willie Brown, her Uncles, Will A Brown, and Jethro Brown, and Aunt, Lillah "Shane" Brown and beloved cousins L. A. Johnson and Jeffrey Brown.

Shira's life was a testament to the power of love, courage, and resilience. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and strength for all who knew her.
