Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Stephen Cavin, who passed suddenly on July 10, 2026 in Littleton, Colorado. Born in Maryland on May 24, 1966, Mark made his impact in the world through his creativity, dedication, and reliability.

Mark was a senior design engineer, a role that suited his creative nature. He worked for various radio frequency design engineering firms before moving on to aerospace and defense technology firm Lockheed Martin where he spent the last nine years of his career. Mark was an award-winning engineer, holding several patents to his name, and mentored many others in his field. He was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, where he studied Electrical Engineering before going on to earn his Master's degree from the University of Central Florida. Mark's dedication to his work was only rivaled by his love for his dogs. In his spare time, he enjoyed skiing and boating, eating blue crabs whenever he could get them, hanging out with his dogs, collecting antiques, and embarking on do-it-yourself home projects.

Mark is survived by his mother, Nina Cavin, his brother Tommie Cavin Jr, his sister Juliana Cavin Lee (Ben), nieces Erica Cavin, Melissa Cavin, Olivia Lee, and Cecilia Lee, and nephew Felix Lee. He is preceded in death by his father, Tommie Cavin. Mark's life was a testament to his dedication, reliability, and the love he had for his family, friends, and beloved pets.
