With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Janeen Webber, a loving wife, dedicated mother, thoughtful grandmother, and loyal sister, who left us on May 10, 2026. Janeen was born on March 28, 1947, in Lucien, Oklahoma, to Gail and Margaret Hise. Known affectionately as Nana Maymee by her grandchildren, Janeen's life was a testament to her love for family, nature, and animals.
Janeen moved to Denver in her junior high years, where her love for sports saw her playing baseball and football with neighborhood friends. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where she joined sororities and developed a passion for folk music, often attending concerts at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. After high school, Janeen lived in Boulder and on Sugarloaf Mountain, Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, before returning to Denver. She spent her last 30 years in her idyllic home in the mountains west of Denver.
Janeen was a woman of many passions. From her early years in Oklahoma, she enjoyed activities like twirling baton, skating, climbing trees, playing jacks, jumping rope, and riding bikes. She carried forward her love for animals from her mother, with the mantra “Love Me, Love My Dog,” and extended this love to horses and chickens. She loved African safaris, wildlife cameras, and the simple pleasure of camping in wild spaces. She had a knack for initiating picnics and camping trips with family and friends, creating lasting memories.
In her professional life, Janeen was a respected florist, who retired from Red Willow Design in Littleton, Colorado, in 1999. She was once awarded the 1990 Floral Designer of the Year and owned her own floral design business, Red Willow Designs. Even in retirement, Janeen’s love for flora saw her volunteering as a Naturalist for Jefferson County Open Space.
Janeen is survived by her husband Robert Webber, her son Rob (Carol) Webber, her daughter Rachael (Dave) Stickland, her granddaughters Jessica and Macey Webber, her grandsons Jack Webber, Ben and Josh Stickland, her brother Adrian Hise, and her grandson-in-law Connor Kroll. She was preceded in death by her parents Gail and Margaret Hise, and her brother Lindsley Hise.
Memories of Janeen's loving and dedicated life will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. We invite those who knew Janeen to share their memories and upload pictures to her memorial page, to help us celebrate the wonderful life she led.
