Linda
Berlin
Mar 16, 1950 — Dec 2, 2024
Linda J. Berlin was born on March 16, 1950 in Chicago, IL and passed away on 12-2-2024 in Centennial, CO. She lived to be 74 years old.
As a young girl, Linda learned to play piano from her mother and, as a result, learned to love music. She majored in music in college, just as her mother did, which brought her great joy over the years.
With Chicago as her playground, Linda was always out and about going to museums, lectures, festivals, various types of live performances, as well as seeking out other cultural activities of all types. She made the most of what Chicago had to offer.
She lived in Chicago for most of her life, but moved to Colorado where she lived for her last 3 years. Her Chicago and Colorado friends all agree that she was a good soul, easy to talk to, a good listener, and a caring person.
She had many lifelong friends in Chicago from high school, various other friends she made over the years with people who crossed paths with her, friends from dance classes, friends from exercise classes, and had several new friends she made in Colorado. Her friends were an important part of her life.
Besides playing piano, she loved going to dance classes, especially at the Armory in Chicago where she had so much fun for many years with the people she knew there. In Colorado, she loved making new friends at her exercise classes at the Goodson Recreation Center.
For most of Linda's life she worked as an Out Trade Specialist for a brokerage firm at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. She retired in 2009.
She loved dogs and cats and had several over the years. She could look at a dog or cat and quickly name the breed, even from a distance. Also, a person walking a dog could not pass her by without her wanting to talk to and pet their dog, and she could talk so sweetly to them! At the same time, she often managed to make friends with the owner of the dog.
Linda is survived by her brother Lou Berlin and his wife Mary, her nephew Vic Berlin and his family, and preceded in death by her parents Edna and Jack Berlin.
Linda's brother Lou is so grateful to everyone for being so nice to his sister. He would like you to know that your friendship and kindness has been greatly appreciated. We encourage all who knew her to celebrate Linda, honor her life, and let her story inspire us to live with compassion, humility, and thoughtfulness.
