Obituary

Kimball Bryant Raburn, a man whose zest for life and passion for culinary arts made an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. Born on May 28, 1964 in Reno, NV, Kimball was a bold spirit who believed, as Julia Child once said, "People who love to eat are always the best people." He exuded the same warmth and joy as the meals he loved to prepare, making everyone around him feel like they were dining at a five-star restaurant.

Kimball, a skilled and creative chef, transformed each food he touched into a masterpiece. His expertise in the kitchen was matched only by his relentless curiosity and drive to learn and innovate. He worked in various locations from Boulder to Denver and even the East Coast before settling down. His culinary creations were a reflection of his exciting life journey, a fusion of flavors from the places he lived and loved. Beyond the kitchen, Kimball was an avid football fan and a skilled mechanic who could breathe new life into any vehicle he worked on. His multi-faceted interests and talents were a testament to his belief in embracing every aspect of life fully.

Kimball, who never married, leaves behind a loving family who will always cherish him. He is survived by his sister, Monica Raburn, her husband John Walker, and their son Brent Raburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Caroline Raburn, and his brother Kevin Raburn. They are all united in their profound love for Kimball and the joy he brought into their lives. As the great Julia Child also said, "The secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person. You know they're right if you love to be with them all the time." Although Kimball never married, he found his "right persons" in his family and friends, who cherished every moment spent with him.

We invite you to share your memories of Kimball and upload photos of him on our memorial page. It is in sharing these stories that we keep his vibrant spirit alive.
