Gerold
Ramsey
Dec 18, 1970 — Jul 22, 2026
Well, everyone, it looks like I finally found something I couldn't fix. I, Gerold "Lee" Ramsey, the witty Tool Pusher and Driller, born on December 18, 1970 in Brighton, CO, have officially run out of time on this planet as of July 22, 2026. Now, before you go getting all teary-eyed, remember I've always been one to find the humor in any situation. After all, as someone once said, "I am prepared to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter."
Since I can't make you laugh in person anymore, I'll do it from beyond. I was the guy who could fix anything, except apparently, my heart. Flowy and Sparky helped give me a few years, and for that I'm grateful. I've spent my days in the oil fields, teaching others, and generally having a good time. When I wasn't working, you could find me riding bikes, flying kites, or just being the best listener anyone could ask for. I lived life on the edge, but love was my middle name. Well, technically, it was Lee, but you get the point.
I spent the last 23 years in Kimball, Nebraska, quite the step up from Dix, NE. We have one stoplight. I've been lovingly married to my wife, Brandy Ramsey, since April 14, 2012, and together we've weathered all sorts of storms. I leave behind my children, Dixie Short, Mikayla Cook, Alex Schanaman, Seth Krafczik, Sheign Krafczik, Matt Cabbage, and Meagan Cabbage. You guys were the best part of my days, and I'll be watching over you from wherever I am now.
Unfortunately, I'm joining a few loved ones who beat me to the punch: my parents, Charlie and Dixie Ramsey, my son, Dan Ramsey, my brother-in-law, Chad Cook, my daughter-in-law, Alisha Pitford, my sister-in-law, Stacy Cook, and my grandmother, Alicia Ramsey. I'm sure they're all up here waiting to give me a hard time for being the next in line.
In the words of another great humorist, "I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." So, don't worry about me. I'm just off on another adventure. I've had a good run. I've lived, I've loved, and now, it's time for me to rest.
Do me a favor and keep the laughter going. Share your memories of our good times together, and upload your favorite photos to my Facebook Page. After all, a day without laughter is a day wasted. So, let's not waste any.
