Eric John Schwarz was born to Richard Allen Schwarz and Barbara Jean (Wilhelm) Schwarz on November 4, 1960. Those who were lucky enough to love him knew him to be a happy, giving man all throughout his history life. He was always willing to help friends or anyone he saw in need, even if it was to his detriment. Eric was declared deceased on January 17, 2025.

Though Eric could be a bit of a troublemaker he will always be remembered for his goofiness and ability to find positivity everywhere he went. Anytime a bad subject came up in conversation. Eric knew how to change the conversation. "The sky is a pretty color blue today."

Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Colorado Springs Colorado had a hold on Eric and was where he called home for many years of his life. He loved enjoying the beautiful scenery and had many wonderful memories of living there with his girls. He had a notorious sweet tooth and could make any day better with just a piece of candy. He was also an avid photographer and loved taking pictures to share with family and friends.

Eric is survived by his children, Bret Kelsey (Haley), Ryan Kelsey (Anna), Kristen (Mike), Breanna (Nick), Danielle (Connor), brothers Tim (Laura), Jim (Tracey), sister Beth (Greg) Den Hartog, his eight grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Special thanks to Eric's friends in Colorado Springs: Adrien, Darlene, Allie, Westside Cares, the Independence Center, and Volunteers Of America.

Eric will be cremated and no funeral services will be held at this time. We do hope to have a celebration of life later in 2025. Those wishing to donate please do so by giving to homelessness and Eric's name. He knew the immense struggle all too well and many continue to do so.
