Elise
Galloway
Feb 7, 1936 — Jun 11, 2026
We have gathered here to celebrate the wonderfully adventurous life of Elise Marie (Leona) Galloway, who was born on February 7, 1936, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, LA, USA. Elise, a beacon of resilience and courage, has completed her earthly journey and has now embarked on her greatest adventure yet.
Elise was a woman of many passions, but none shone brighter than her love for her family. She was the steadfast rock upon which her family was built, guiding and counseling them through life's ups and downs with an unwavering spirit. In the words of Louisa May Alcott, "I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship." Elise certainly knew how to navigate through life's storms, imparting her resilience, love, and independent thinking onto her family. Her spirit lives on in those she leaves behind: her loving husband, Freddie Galloway; her children, Darrell, Richard, Terrance, Sabrina; her daughters-in-law, Yong and Marci; her grandchildren, Paul, Rebekah, Darrian, Desiree, Rose; and her niece, Nita Calhoun.
Elise's adventurous spirit did not confine her to just one place, she made her home in Denver, Colorado, but her heart belonged to the world. She lived in various locations around the globe due to her husband Fred's service, and she thrived on these experiences, earning numerous accolades for her work in Family Services. Elise's journey continued with The American Red Cross as a family care coordinator, where she was widely recognized for her dedication and tenacity. In her spare time, Elise was an avid traveler and a skilled seamstress, but she found the most joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren and her wide circle of friends.
Elise's journey through life has not ended, but rather, she has embarked on a new journey, reuniting with those who had gone on before her, including her mother, Leona Galloway, and her father, whose memory she held dear. In the spirit of Elise's adventurous soul, let's remember the words of Helen Keller, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."
To further honor Elise's memory, we encourage you to share your favorite stories and upload photos of her to the memorial page. Let's continue to celebrate the radiant spirit of Elise Galloway, a truly remarkable woman whose love, courage, and resilience continue to inspire us all.
