Denise
Carrillo
Sep 8, 1958 — Jul 24, 2025
Denise Carrillo, born on September 8, 1958, in Sioux Falls, SD, was a woman whose spirit was as vibrant as the flowers she once sold. A resilient soul with an indomitable will, Denise lived a life marked by creativity. As Maya Angelou once said, "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated." Indeed, Denise lived this truth, embodying the spirit of resilience in every season of her life.
Denise's journey took her from Sioux Falls to various cities—Lakewood, Arvada, Richardson, Irving, Granby, Rapid City, Moore, Leadville, and Edgewater—before finally finding a home in Denver, Colorado. Denise's spirit of adventure was evident in her love for gaming, a hobby she pursued with unrelenting fervor. Besides her love for gaming, Denise had a passion for cooking, often seen trying to recreate dishes she saw on TV cooking shows. But it was her tenure at Mana Flowers in Lakewood, Colorado, that defined Denise's professional life. She spent years bringing joy to others through the beauty of flowers, before retiring in 2009.
In her personal life, Denise had a unique approach to relationships. She was known for her candidness and a no-nonsense attitude that often resulted in her pushing people away. However, she held a few dear: her online gaming community, her son Erik, her mother Fara bb and her beloved dogs. Survived by her sons Alonzo Alcon, Erik Alcon, mother Fara Wright, sisters, Corrine Shandonay, and Grace Doris, brothers, Bill Wright, and Arnold Wright. Denise's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Wright.2-husbands, Zeke Alcon and Curtis Moss, her sisters Patricia O'Dowd, Christine Martinez, Margaret Wright, Frances Wright. brother Michael Wright.
