Carrie
Rumbarger
Aug 28, 1959 — Jan 15, 2024
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Carrie Katherine Rumbarger, fondly known as Nana. Born on August 28, 1959, she graced the world with her compassionate spirit for 64 beautiful years until her departure on January 15, 2024. Carrie was a brilliant beacon of love and resilience, making her home in Denver, Colorado. Her footprints are also remembered in the sands of Portland, Tillamook, Garibaldi, Brookings in Oregon, and Sacramento, California.
Carrie's life was a testament to her generous heart and unwavering love for her family. She was the embodiment of unconditional love, never hesitating to put the happiness and well-being of her family above her own. As a believer and lover of Christ, she lived by the verse, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8, NIV). Her faith was not just in words but in deeds, shown through her tireless dedication to her family and her passion for her work in administrative roles in the Home Warranty business until her retirement in 2008.
Carrie's love for life was contagious. She radiated joy and her hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She loved reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. Her creativity shone through in her love for coloring and stickering. The melodies of her favorite songs filled her home, and she was always ready for a spontaneous day trip, embracing every adventure that came her way. Carrie's love for independence was deeply intertwined with her free spirit, allowing her to live her life on her own terms.
Carrie leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her family. She is survived by her son, Robert Van Natta and his wife, Alison; her daughter, Elizabeth Betow; her grandchildren, Elisa Owens, Donovan Betow, Morrigan Natta, and Kuiper Natta; and her sister, Linda Highman. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Betow.
Carrie's memory lives on in every heart she touched. We invite all who knew Carrie to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page as we celebrate her life and the love she shared. May her spirit continue to inspire us, reminding us of the power of love, generosity, and resilience.
