Bruce
Larson
Feb 14, 1947 — Jun 6, 2025
It is with a dash of humor and a whole lot of love that we remember the life of Bruce Paul Larson. Bruce was born on February 14, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and died peacefully in Parker, Colorado on June 6, 2025. Bruce was a loyal friend, a lighthearted soul, and a spirited competitor, whether on the football field or in a game on the basketball court. His humor was as infectious as his enthusiasm and his many jokes were a testament to his fun-loving spirit. As the saying goes, "Life is better when you're laughing," and Bruce tried to make sure we all got a good dose of laughter.
Bruce graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Political Science and accepted his officer's commission into the Marine Corps in 1970. He served in Japan during the Vietnam war and retired from the military with the rank of Captain.
Although he rose to the position of Regional Vice President of Burlington Northern Air Freight in 1985, most of his working career was spent as a self-employed businessman in the air freight forwarding industry, retiring in 2013. However, his true passion was sports. From his high school days running track and playing football & basketball, to his adult years in competitive leagues, coaching little league football & soccer teams, and even refining his swing on the golf course, Bruce was always in the game. His love for sports was only matched by his love for music. He was not just an ardent choir member at his church but also sang with a local group, bringing joy and music to all those around him.
Despite his many interests, what mattered most to Bruce were his church, his family and his friends. Bruce served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, was instrumental in improving pledges while on the church's stewardship committee, sang in the choir, and lead Sunday school classes. He loved coaching his kids' little league sports teams and spending time with his kids. He enjoyed hosting "gourmet groups" in his home, fantasy football and going to Vegas with "the guys". All in all, he was a man who loved connection with others and Bruce's life was filled with people he cherished.
He is survived by 2 siblings JoAnn Jones and Bill Larson, 4 children Drew (& Laura) Larson, Scott (& Parker) Larson, Marc Larson, and Nate Larson, first wife Sue (& John) Kinne, second wife Anne Larson, 8 nieces & nephews, and 6 granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William & Mary Alice Larson and his sister Susan (Sam) Marler.
Bruce's life was a journey filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of spirit. His memory will continue to remind us to embrace life with humor, passion, and love. We invite you to upload your favorite pictures, share your memories of him, and remember the laughter he brought into our lives on his memorial page.
